AMI BIOS

AMI BIOS (A`M-I` bīōs, am`ē, B`I-O-S) noun

A ROM BIOS developed and marketed by American Megatrends, Inc. (AMI) for use in IBM-compatible computers. A popular feature is that its configuration software is stored in the ROM chip along with the BIOS routines, so that the user does not need a separate configuration disk to modify system settings, such as amount of memory installed and number and types of disk drives.
